In another part of her triptych, Marta Pajek comes back to the concept of the impossible figure, which this time is supposed to illustrate female-male relationships. Jan Matejko. REJTAN, OR THE FALL OF POLAND

In 1773, clutching at assorted pretexts, Russia, Austria, and Prussia annexed a third of the territory of the commonwealth of Poland–Lithuania. The deed marked the beginning of the process that bereft Poland of independence. Bribed by Russia, members of the polish parliament of 1773 were ready to ratify an act sanctioning the first partition of Poland. The film shows the dramatic moment when deputy Radeusz Rejtan tries to forestall that act of treason.

Jerzy Skolimowski is watching “Identification Marks: None”

A documentary record of a formally unconventional interview with Jerzy Skolimowski. Nearly fifty years after the premiere of Identification Marks: None, Skolimowski talks about the genesis of his first feature film. He recalls his meeting and collaboration with Andrzej Wajda, harks back to the student days at film school, reveals behind-the-scenes details of the pre-production stage, discusses some famous scenes, acting and working with Elżbieta Czyżewska, and responds to the praise from Jean-Luc Godard that stood in stark contrast to negative reviews the film received in Poland.
