Magnus Von Horn was born in 1983 in Gothenburg, Sweden. He has been living and working in Poland for over 20 years. He graduated from the Łódź Film School, where he is currently a lecturer at the Directing Department. It was already with his short films that he gained international recognition as a promising director when he presented them at the Sundance Film Festival and the Locarno IFF. His feature-length debut, The Here After, had its premiere in the Directors’ Fortnight section of the 2015 Cannes IFF and won him two Swedish Guldbagge Film Awards – for Best Film and Best Directing. His second film, Sweat, was included in the Official Selection at the 2020 Cannes IFF, and received six statuettes, including the Silver Lions at the 2020 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.
