Varvara Zarytska

Varvara Zarytska was born and raised in Kyiv, where she began studying feature-film directing at KNUTKiT in 2021. The full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine forced her to flee the war by moving to Poland — for a while, or so she thought. But that ‘while’ has grown complicated and long, and there is no way back to her previous life. Now a fourth-year directing student at the Łódź Film School, she has made a few short documentaries and narrative films.
