Polish Film Institute Awards Ceremony

The Polish Film Institute Awards will be presented at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia for the seventeenth time. The accolades recognise the work of people and institutions outside of film production by rewarding achievements in supporting the development of Polish cinema, promoting its heritage, and facilitating public access to Polish films.
The Polish Film Institute has announced a new category for the PFI Awards – Accessibility of Film Culture. This award recognises activities that increase the accessibility of film culture for people with special needs and communities that have been underrepresented or excluded from cultural life. Projects or initiatives that remove barriers to access to films, film events, and audiovisual education may be recognised.
At the award ceremony, the winners selected from applications submitted by institutions, individuals, and cultural organisations will be announced. There are ten categories: Film Event, Film Education, Cinema, Film Discussion Club, Film Criticism, Book on Film, Polish Film Distribution, Polish Film Promotion Abroad, Film Poster, and Accessibility of Film Culture.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the enactment of the Cinematography Act and the establishment of the Polish Film Institute, Special Awards will be presented during the Award Ceremony for outstanding contributions to the promotion of film culture over the past twenty years.
The 17th Polish Film Institute Awards Ceremony will take place on 24th September at the Danuta Baduszkowa Musical Theatre. By invitations only
