The 50th PFF Newsreel

The 50th Polish Film Festival Newsreel comprises five short documentaries filmed and post-produced throughout the week by directing and cinematography students representing the most important Polish film schools: Gdynia Film School, the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia in Katowice, the Łódź Film School, the Wajda School, and the Warsaw Film School. The episodes are edited by students of editing at the Łódź Film School, under the supervision of experienced professionals Irena Siedlar and Miłosz Janiec. The project, initiated by Jerzy Rados, who has been documenting the PFF in Gdynia for twenty years, encourages young filmmakers to explore new documentary perspectives on the festival’s microcosm, rich with renowned figures, rivalry, and intriguing events.
Subsequent episodes of the 50th PFF Newsreel will premiere on Monday, 22nd Sept., Tuesday, 23rd Sept., Wednesday, 24th Sept., Thursday, 25th Sept., and Friday, 26th Sept., at the Musical Theatre; before selected screenings at the Gdynia Film Centre; and on the websites and social media accounts of the Festival and its Patron, the City of Gdynia.
