Maciek Bochniak

Maciek Bochniak is a director and screenwriter. He is a member of the Directors’ Guild of Poland. He made his debut in 2011 with his short film Reception. He was the co-author of a feature-length film The Room, which received numerous special mentions alongside the title of the Best Independent Film at the 2012 Gdynia Film Festival. Bochniak is the winner of Janusz ‘Kuba’ Morgenstern ‘Perspective’ Award for his film Disco Polo and of the Golden Claw at the 2020 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia for Magnesium. His third feature film Freestyle, produced for Netflix, was presented in the Main Competition at the 2023 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. Bochniak is the author of high-profile feature-length documentary films One Billion Happy People and Ethiopiques: Revolt of the Soul (produced for HBO). He is the director of the hit series The Office PL season 4 of which is to be released this autumn on Canal+.
