Dorota Kędzierzawska is a director born in 1957 in Łódź. She studied cultural studies at the University of Łódź (1976–1978), aferwards graduating in feature film directing at VGIK in Moscow (1978–1980), and later directing at Łódź Film School (1980–1985). She created many movies awarded in Poland and abroad, like Devils, Devils, Crows, Nothing, I Am, Time to Die, Tomorrow Will Be Better, Speedway and Dreams Full of Smoke. In 2014 awarded the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis as well as Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for outstanding contributions to Polish culture, artistic and creative achievements, and social activism.
