Jacek Bromski
Film director, screenwriter and producer. Awarded numerous times at festivals in Poland and abroad. Born 1946 in Wrocław. In the years 1965–1970 he studied Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the years 1972–1974 he studied Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw and from 1974 to 1978 – Directing at the Łódź Film School. He is one of the most active Polish cultural activists. Since 1996, he has been the President of the Polish Filmmakers Association, without breaks and currently serving his fifth term, and transformed the PFA into a powerful trade organisation of filmmakers that integrates the industry. With him as President, the PFA took one of the top positions among similar organisations in Europe. It is also the best known and the most effective organisation of filmmakers in Poland.
