Jan Kidawa-Błoński
Film and television director, screenwriter and producer. Born 1953 in Chorzów. He studied Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, he graduated from the Direction Department of the Lodz Film School. In the years 1982–1991 he was a member of the Silesia Film Group, and after it was disbanded, he was part of the Oko Film Group and Zodiak Film Group. Since 1991, President and co-owner of Gambit Production studio which produces feature films, documentaries, commercials and TV programmes. In the years 1990–1994, President of the Polish Filmmakers Association, in the years 1997–2001, member of the Board of the Independent Film and Television Producers Association. Member of the Polish Film Academy. Winner of the Golden Lions award at the 2010 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia for Little Rose.
