AWARDS IN THE MAIN COMPETITION
The Grand Prize of the Polish Film Festival – Golden Lions and PLN 300,000 granted to the film’s producer and director (PLN 200,000 for the director and PLN 100,000 for the producer). The leading producer of the winning film is entitled to a subsidy from the Polish Film Institute of PLN 200,000 for the development of their next film or PLN 250,000 for a historical film.
The Award of the Polish Film Festival – Silver Lions and PLN 150,000 granted to the film’s producer and director (PLN 100,000 for the director and PLN 50,000 for the producer). The leading producer of the winning film is entitled to a subsidy of PLN 200,000 from the Polish Film Institute for the development of their next film.

The Audience Award in the Main Competition and PLN 15,000 granted to the film’s director by Festival viewers participating in voting in festival cinemas. The award is sponsored by Kino Polska.
AWARDS IN THE PERSPECTIVES COMPETITION
The Award of the Polish Film Festival – Sapphire Lions and PLN 50,000 granted to the film’s producer and director (PLN 30,000 for the director and PLN 20,000 for the producer)
The Award for an outstanding artistic contribution and PLN 15,000 granted to the filmmaker (a representative of film professions other than a director or producer), whose contribution to the final form of the film the jury considers outstanding.
CROSS-SECTION AWARDS GRANTED TO FILMS FROM THE MAIN COMPETITION AND THE PERSPECTIVES COMPETITION
The Award for directing debut or second film: PLN 15,000
The Golden Claw Award and PLN 30,000 granted to the film’s producer and director (PLN 20,000 for the director, PLN 10,000 for the producer)
AWARDS IN THE SHORT FILM COMPETITION
Lucjan Bokiniec Award for Best Film: PLN 15,000
Special Award: PLN 10,000
Special Mention: PLN 5,000
PLATINUM LIONS
The Organising Committee of the Festival may grant the Award of the Polish Film Festival – Platinum Lions to a filmmaker for lifetime achievements. The winner of the award is proposed by the Programme Council in agreement with the Polish Filmmakers Association. The winner is presented with a statuette and PLN 30,000.
OUT-OF-COMPETITION AWARDS
“Amber Lions” Award given by the KINA POLSKIE Association for a Polish film which received the best attendance result in Polish cinemas last season.
Polish Film Abroad Festivals And Reviews Award for the director of the best film selected by the organisers of Polish film festivals and reviews abroad. The prize is the participation of the film and its makers in Polish diaspora festivals around the world.
“Golden Kangaroo” Award for a film presented in the Main Competition, given by the Jury comprised of Australian film distributors. The award is meant to popularise the Polish film in Australia, initiate and facilitate the contact between Polish and Australian filmmaking communities and their cooperation in production.
Don Quixote – Polish Film Clubs Federation Award for a film presented in the Main Competition, awarded by a specially appointed jury of PFDKF comprised of activists and members of film discussion clubs associated in the Polish Federation of Film Discussion Clubs.
Janusz Korczak Golden Lion Cubs For Best Film For Youth at the 49th Polish Film Festival granted by the children part of the festival audience. Partner of the Golden Lion Cubs Award is KGHM Miedź.
Diamond Lion Cubs Award for best film for children and youth on the 20th anniversary of the Gdynia for Children section granted by the users of Interia website in a voting divided into three rounds. from among films screened in the Gdynia for Children section over the years.
Young Jury Award For Best Film in the Main Competition granted by a Jury comprised of the laureates of the 8th edition of the Olympics, organised by the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute.
Arthouse Cinemas Network Award for a film presented in the Main Competition given by the representatives of the arthouse cinemas. The prize is a support in distribution of the film in the Arthouse Cinemas Network.
The Arthouse Cinema Award is the CICAE award given by a jury of the CICAE Association, comprised of arthouse cinema exhibitors and programmers from different countries. This is a cross-section award, so the jury will judge altogether first and second films from two competition sections: Main Competition and Perspectives Competition.
Radio Gdańsk “Golden Claqueur” Award goes to the director of a film presented in the Main Competition of the PFF that enjoyed the longest ovation, after screening on the Large Stage of the Musical Theatre.
Elle Cristal Star Award granted to filmmakers of a film presented in the Main Competition, who moved us, amazed us and inspired ELLE’s editors the most.
“Chopard loves cinema” Award granted to an actress whose talent and charisma attract attention not only on the silver screen but also beyond it.
Best casting Award
Journalists Award given to a film presented in the Main Competition by accredited journalists at the 49th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia in a vote after the last press screening at the Festival.
Hortex Award for a Fresh Look granted to a film or filmmaker competing in the Perspectives Competition.
Award for the Most Environmentally Friendly Film Production granted in cooperation with representatives of the European Commission in Poland and the Film4Climate Initiative in two categories: Feature-length Film (from films presented in the Main Competition and the Perspectives Competition) and Short Film (from films presented in the Short Film Competition).
Educational Film Studio Award For ‘An Unobvious Film, Like No Other’ granted to a director in the Short Film Competition.
Festival Phenomenon – Special Award of Interia website for a filmmaker or film presented in the Short Film Competition: for their originality, extraordinary message and courage to break with conventions.
Zwierciadło Award for a fresh look, undeniable talent and artistic sensitivity to a female filmmaker or filmmakers of a film presented in the Short Film Competition.
The Bravest Look – Dr Irena Eris Award for a Filmmaker of a film presented in the Short Film Competition for the most courageous, the most sensitive and the most beautifully told film story.
Heliograf Award for Best Cinematography in The Short Film Competition.
