Zofia Kowalewska

Graduate of Film and Television Direction from Lodz Film School. Director of the much-discussed documentary Close Ties. The film won over forty awards at festivals in Poland and abroad (e.g. Krakow Film Festival, International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film) and was shortlisted for the Academy Award. Her latest documentary, Only the Wind, premiered at Krakow Film Festival and Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in Toronto. The winner of the Talent Trójki Award for Film and recipient of a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
