Meeting with Maciej Karpiński on “Pan Andrzej. Portret z Pamięci” – speaker Anita Skwara

A meeting with Maciej Karpiński, a screenwriter of over twenty much-awarded films (including PFF in Gdynia) directed by such artists as Agnieszka Holland, Márta Mészáros, Volker Schlöndorff, Feliks Falk, Janusz Zaorski, Janusz Kondratiuk, Jan Kidawa-Błoński, and Andrzej Wajda. Karpiński’s latest book, Pan Andrzej. Portret z pamięci, is dedicated to the latter. Neither a biography nor a monograph of the great director’s films, the book is a personal recollection of Karpiński and Wajda’s long-time collaboration and close friendship, depicting Andrzej Wajda from up close, working on films and theatre plays, travelling around the world and living everyday life, resulting in a unique portrait of the artist, full of new details, anecdotes and commentaries on his works, full of documents and photographs never published before.
