Marcin Ciastoń

Marcin Ciastoń graduated in Applied Linguistics from the University of Warsaw and in Screenwriting from the Warsaw Film School. He was initially involved in the audio-visual market as a translator. He is the winner and finalist of the most important Polish screenwriting competitions: SCRIPT PRO and Script Wars. In 2021 he made his debut with Operation Hyacinth (dir. Piotr Domalewski) for which he received the Best Screenplay award at the 2021 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. He adapted Wojciech Chmielarz’s novel The Breach (dir. Bartosz Konopka). Ciastoń is the co-author of a family comedy Detective Bruno (dir. Magdalena Nieć, Mariusz Palej), which won Janusz Korczak Golden Lion Cubs at the 2022 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. He actively works as feature film and premium series screenwriter. He is a member of the Polish Filmmakers Association and the Polish Screenwriters’ Guild.
