Aleksandra Terpińska is a director and screenwriter. She is a lecturer and mentor with the Gdynia Film School, Pop Up Film Residency and Film Spring Open. She graduated from the Krzysztof Kieślowski Radio and Television Faculty of the University of Silesia in Katowice, in Psychology from the University of Wrocław and she completed such programmes as TIFF Talent Lab, Nipkow Programm, EAVE or First Cut Lab. Her short film The Best Fireworks Ever received the CANAL+ Award and Rail d’Or in the Critics’ Week section at the 2017 Cannes IFF. Her feature-length debut, Other People, won the FIPRESCI Prize at the 2021 Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, five awards at the 2021 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia (incl. Best Debut) and four other awards at festivals in Poland. It was also nominated for the Eagles in six categories. For this film the director also received Polityka Passport in the film category.
