50 Years Later at the 49^th PFF

With the “50 Years Later” section we’ve begun celebrations of the jubilee 50^th edition of the Polish Film Festival. After fifty years from the premiere screening, we will see Jerzy Hoffman’s The Deludge – the first recipient of the Golden Lions award. On that occasion, we have arranged a screening of the reconstructed and re-edited version of the film and a screening of Łukasz Czajka’a documentary The Deludge: Postscriptum. We invite you to an after-screening meeting with the director Łukasz Czajka and guests, director Jan P. Matuszyński and film critic and pop-culture expert Kaja Klimek, who will discuss the topicality and meaning of The Deluge and Polish film classics in the 21^st century in general.

The Deluge Redivivus, directed by: Jerzy Hoffman. Reconstructed version of The Deludge from 1974.

The Deluge: Postscriptum, directed by: Łukasz Czajka. An after-screening meeting with Łukasz Czajka and Jan P. Matuszyński and film critic and pop-culture expert Kaja Klimek. 

The 49^th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia will take place on 23^rd–28^th September 2024.
