Aleksander Ford

Film director and screenwriter. Born in 1908. Graduated in Art History from the University of Warsaw. Co-creator of the Artistic Film Connoisseurs Society – Start (1930). Made his debut with short documentaries. Mascotte (1930) was his first feature film. He fully showed his skills in Mir kumen on (1936) and People of the Vistula (1938). Director of the box office hit Knights of the Teutonic Order (1960). Left Poland in 1969. Died in 1980.
