Olga Blumczyńska
Anthropologist, filmmaker and enthusiast of archival photography. Collector of oral history stories. Graduate of Oriental Studies and undergraduate of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Warsaw. She studied filmmaking at Wajda School (DOK PRO course) and at Gdynia Film School (Pomeranian Film Workshops). She produced documentaries for Polish Humanitarian Action, among others in Somalia and South Sudan. She worked for Emigration Museum in Gdynia where she created a portal for spoken history www.archiwumemigranta.pl, collecting in film and audio forms the stories of Polish immigrants spread around the world. Author of The Past States following the life of the Polish community in Greenpoint. Freelance researcher and filmmaker running social and documentation projects in cooperation with cultural institutions.
