An author’s adaptation of a novel by Edward Redliński. A young peasant, Kaziuk, lives his modest but happy life with his family in a desolate village. A tangle of strange events (a prematurely calved cow, the appearance of a mysterios wanderer, a female teacher and a persistent speaker from the city)destroys not only the harmony of the protagonist’s family but also the order present in the village for generations.
