The Mazurian Lakes Region, year 1945. Tadeusz, a Polish Army Officer, wants to find a place where he could live a peaceful life, hiding from the authorities of the new political system. He arrives on the farm and meets Rosa whose late husband was a Wehrmacht soldier. He was shot by the Tadeusz’s troop in the Polish September Campaign of 1939. Tadeusz starts to help Rosa. Their fates intertwine in a mysterious way. They have feelings for each other, but leave them in hiding, until she dies.
