A portrait of the brilliant cinematographer who introduced, among others, the aesthetics of hand held shots, coloured lighting and working with minimal exposure. In the ‘70s, Zygmunt Samosiuk was a star of cinematography, but remained a very modest and warm person. He died suddenly in 1983. He left behind the unforgettable images from “The Birch Wood”, “Landscape After the Battle” or “Austeria”. In the film, Samosiuk is heartbreakingly remembered by his collaborators and friends – Andrzej Wajda, Piotr Szulkin, Krzysztof Gradowski, Janusz Majewski, Bogdan Dziworski, Irena Karel, Daniel Olbrychski, Zygmunt Malanowski, Marian Marzyński and Renata Pajchel amongst them.
