Walk-over
Thirty-year-old Andrzej Leszczyc runs into Teresa, a friend from his student days and the reason he was relegated. She is successful in life; he is still searching for his place. Andrzej takes part in a boxing competition held at Teresa’s industrial complex. With the final and uneven fight ahead, will he face his opponent or with- draw – as he has many times before in life?
‘Walk-over’, often compared to Antonioni’s works, garnered considerable acclaim from both Polish and foreign critics. It received the Grand Prix for directing at the Arnhem Film Festival (1965), a special mention at the Mannheim International Film Festival (1965), an award from the French magazine Cahiers du Cinema (1966), and the Andrzej Munk Award (1965).
