Leaving the television building Jan Bratek has a dangerous accident. While he’s in a hospital bed, his mind wanders recalling scenes from his turbulent life. Against his will he was lucky – or unlucky – to have been in the centre of historic events. Like a lens, his fate reflects the post-war history of Poland.
