A Short Film About Love
Krzysztof Kieślowski
1988, 1 h 27 minWarsaw, the 80’s of the 20th century. A modest and inconspicuous post office worker, 19-year-old Tomek, lives in a rented flat at a typical Polish People Republic’s housing estate. In the evenings, the boy watches through a telescope an attractive 30-year-old Magda living at the opposite to him. He tries to get closer to the woman, finally he tells her he loves her. Magda invites him to her place but only to cynically show him that love doesn’t exist – there is only sex. A cinema version of The Decalogue, Six, a commentary to the commandment “You shall not commit adultery”.
