Camouflage
Krzysztof Zanussi
1976, 1 h 36 min“Everybody conforms just like, well, you and me”, says Docent Jakub Szelestowski to his younger assistant Jarek Kruszyński at linguistic camp. Jarek is an idealist who soon discovers not only how corrupted and pretentious the intellectual community is but also that he himself is not free of hypocrisy. The flagship film of the Cinema of Moral Anxiety, with an outstanding performance by Zbigniew Zapasiewicz as modern Mephistopheles. Though set in the Polish People’s Republic, the film has proven universal.
