Corpus Christi
A story of a twenty-year-old Daniel. During his stay at a youth detention centre, he goes through a spiritual change and secretly dreams of becoming a priest. Once paroled, he makes friends with a parish priest of a small congregation. In the absence of the clergyman, Daniel makes use of the situation and begins to minister the town pretending to be a priest. His evangelistic methods prove controversial among the inhabitants. However, with time the teachings and charisma of the fake priest start making an impact on the people. This extremely original project in Polish and European cinema touches upon taboo subjects and brings up the question of social divisions and the complex spirituality of young people.
