Under the Grey Sky
Belarus, 2020. Ongoing protests after the presidential election rigged by Lukashenko. An anti-regime journalist, Lena, is reporting from a peaceful demonstration being brutally pacified. A police drone targets her, but Lena continues her broadcast, and she gets detained. Her husband, Ilja, is doing everything to save his wife, whereas the authorities are determined to break them both. The film is inspired by the story of Belarussian journalists Igor Iljash and Katsyaryna Andreeva who was arrested in November 2020.
The film is the director’s feature-length debut.
