16th Polish Film Institute Awards Ceremony
The winners of the 16th Polish Film Institute Awards have been announced. The Awards Ceremony took place on 25th September at the Musical Theatre in Gdynia, during the 49th Polish Film Festival.
The winners received their statues in the following categories:
Cinema – Muza Cinema in Włoszczowa.
Film Event – Cinema Without Barriers – Polish edition.
Polish Film Promotion Abroad – Krakow Film Foundation activities.
Film Criticism – Kaja Klimek.
Book on Film – The Dark Knight of Gotham: Essays on Popular Culture by Michał Chudoliński.
Film Education – Young Horizons Education.
Polish Film Distribution – Distribution of the film Vika!
Film Discussion Club – Film Discussion Club Olbrzym in Tarnowskie Góry.
Film Poster – Poster for the film Rave by Jakub Jezierski.
The Jury also decided to grant an honorary distinction to the Online Film Club for the Blind “Pociąg” for its responsible mission in creating a space for film discussions for the visually impaired, and a posthumous honorary distinction to Jagoda Murczyńska for her significant contribution to popularising knowledge about Asian cinema in Poland.
The Polish Film Institute Awards are a special distinction in the film industry, recognising the work of individuals and institutions not directly involved in film production. These are the only Polish awards dedicated to highlighting achievements that support the development of Polish cinematography, promote its legacy, and facilitate public access to Polish film art.
