MORGENSTERN ANEW. ANDRZEJ PĄGOWSKI’S EXHIBITION

MORGENSTERN ANEW. ANDRZEJ PĄGOWSKI’S EXHIBITION

The exhibition Morgenstern Anew presents new posters designed by Andrzej Pągowski for all twenty films directed by Janusz Morgenstern. It’s the graphic artist’s third original project promoting the outstanding directors of Polish Cinema. So far, we have seen Kieślowski Anew in 2016 and Wajda Anew in 2021. After their premiere at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, previous poster collections travelled around the country and were displayed at various exhibitions. Janusz Morgenstern (16th November 1922–6th September 2011) was one of the greatest Polish film, television and theatre directors and a film producer. In his early years, he worked as Assistant Director I and II on Andrzej Wajda’s films. Last year, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of his birthday. The project cooperates with the director’s wife, Krystyna Ciernik- -Morgenstern and the National Centre for Culture in Łódź. Morgenstern’s films, such as Goodbye, See You Tomorrow, To Kill This Love, Jovita, and the series More Than Life at Stake and Polish Roads, belong to the canon of Polish film.

The exhibition under the honorary auspices of the President of Gdynia.
