Dancing with the Victim

A girl and a boy in their twenties emigrate from Poland to Germany. They take up low-paid jobs. In time, she gets into university, and he loses his job at a warehouse and falls into bad company. The girl improves her German and makes new friends, which makes the boy jealous, confused and frustrated. He drinks more, doesn’t come home for the night and becomes aggressive towards his partner. The conflict escalates, the relationship disintegrates, and events inevitably lead to a tragic finale in which he becomes the Perpetrator, and she becomes the Victim. The whole story is told from both perspectives: independently of each other, they report on their break-up via posts, photos and videos on Facebook. At the same time, their story becomes an online ‘live’ reality show stream titled Dancing with the Victim.
