The Last Day of Summer

The Last Day of Summer

dir.

Tadeusz Konwicki

1958, 0 h 59 min

This experimental film is an atmospheric study of loneliness and helplessness. Made under amateur conditions, it tells the story of a young man and a mature woman who meet on a deserted Baltic beach. They try to get closer to each other, but their pasts and traumatic war experiences create an unbreakable barrier. The planes flying over their heads do not let them forget the dangers.
