The film is based on a Christmas carol published in Krakow in 1843. It
is about three foreigners who are guided by a star towards Bethlehem, to
where the Infant has been born.

Although based on a biblical
parable, the film shows their friendship flourishing during the journey
and the joy of reaching their destination without pathos.
