Seven Days a Week

In his last documentary, almost without any words and using a camera in the hands of Jacek Petrycki, Krzysztof Kieślowski presented an ordinary Polish family living in Warsaw in the ‘80s. We witness the daily routine of a few people shown in a weekly rhythm.

Shells: the film about happiness

In winter, Alicja keeps all her plants in her flat and it looks like an African jungle. Snails, with whom Alicja maintains an unstable truce, nibble on her cultivation. She rents a room to Marcin, an enthusiast of aeromodelling.

Smolensk

10^th April 2010, the government plane Tupolev 154 on board with the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Kaczyński, and accompanying members of the official delegation headed for Katyn, crashes in Smolensk. All passengers die instantly. The tragedy stirs a commotion. Nina (Beata Fido), a journalist with a large commercial TV station, is trying to get to know the cause of the catastrophe. Some traces lead to Lech Kaczyński’s dramatic journey to war-stricken Georgia aimed at stopping the invasion of Russian troops on Tbilisi in August 2008. With every hour of her journalist investigation Nina becomes convinced that the truth is much more complex than one might suspect.

Justyna, a lonely woman in her thirties, buys a flat at a bailiff auction. On the day of the move to her dream home it turns out that the key doesn’t fit the lock.

The Advisers of King Hydrops

An animated adaptation of Stanisław Lem’s fairy-tale. Hydrops, the King of Agronauts, the ruler of Akwacja, gives an unusual task to his advisers – they’re supposed to create an heir to the throne.

The Artists

An original eight-part TV series from the theatre creators Monika Strzępka and Paweł Demirski, produced by Telewizja Polska for 250^th anniversary of the public theatre in Poland. The project was co-financed by the National Audiovisual Institute supervised by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. A star cast of both theatre and film Polish actors of all generations appear on screen.
