FACING THE AUDIENCE – open workshops during the 39. GFF
As soon as in a week, Lucy Scher, Mathias Noschis and Jan Naszewski will talk about the secrets of working on a screenplay and will introduce us to the arcana of the marketing strategies of the film projects!
From 16 to 17 September, during the 39. Gdynia Film Festival, a two-day event entitled “Facing the Audience” will take place. It is addressed to the film industry professionals and comprises of an open lecture and closed workshops.
All the accredited guests of the Festival are invited to the lectures. The sessions, held by Lucy Scher (The Script Factory), Mathias Noschis (Alphapanda) and Jan Naszewski (New Europe Film Sales) will take place in the lecture hall of Hotel Gdynia (Turkusowa Room). Due to a limited number of seats, we kindly ask for punctuality.

- 16 September, Tuesday, 10:30 – 12:00 a.m.; For whom we write, or about different meanings of the word “audience” (open lecture) Lecturer: LUCY SCHER, moderator: JOANNA SZYMAŃSKA From an idea to a cinema premiere, the text of a screenplay is subjected to numerous confrontations with various types of audiences: it is read by experts, directors, producers, the cast. Lucy Scher, in the form of an open lecture, will tell us how to define the target audience of our screenplay in particular phases of its creation and how to successfully meet the untypical “viewer”.
- 17 September, Wednesday, 10:30 – 12:00 a.m.; Anybody there? Strategic planning of success (open lecture) Lecturer: MATHIAS NOSCHIS, JAN NASZEWSKI, moderator: JOANNA SZYMAŃSKA The marketing strategy becomes one of the more important elements of the film project development. As soon as in the earliest phases of filmmaking, it is worth asking ourselves about the audience to which our film is addressed. Mathias Noschis and Jan Naszewski will help us to find answers to the questions about our audience. Do we know who are they? Do we know how to best reach them? And why is it important as soon as on the screenplay writing stage?
The event is organised by Creative Europe Desk Polska, Krajowa Izba Producentów Audiowizualnych and Sekcja Młodych Producentów KIPA as well as the Pomeranian Film Foundation.
