Andrzej Korzyński
Born 2nd March 1940 in Warsaw. Composer, arranger and pianist. Graduate from Composition, Conducting and Theory of Music at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (1964). The head of the RYTM Radio Studio (1965-73). Author of instrumentals, ballet, pop, theatre, radio, television and film music. Winner of the awards for the radio song of the year (1965, 1966, 1974).
As a film score composer, he debuted in TV films “Pavoncello” and “Pieśń triumfującej miłości” Directed by Andrzej Żuławski. The author of music for over 130 feature and short films, including the most important or popular titles in Polish cinema: nine films of Andrzej Żuławski (e.g. “The Third Part of the Night”, “The Devil”), six of Andrzej Wajda (“Everything for Sale”, “Hunting Flies”, “Birch Wood”, “Man of Marble”, “Man of Iron”, “Miss Nothing”), comedies of Sylwester Chęciński (“Nie ma mocnych”, “Love It or Leave It”) and children musicals of Krzysztof Gradowski. Worked with Edward Żebrowski (“Ocalenie”), Barbara Sass, Janusz Nasfeter, Władysław Ślesicki (e.g. “In Desert and Wilderness”), Jerzy Domaradzki, Stanisław Jędryka, Andrzej Kotkowski.
In 2004, Amplitude (France) published the album “Movie Music – The Best of Andrzej Korzyński”. Winner of the award for the music in the film “Red Thorns” at the 4th Polish Film Festival in Gdansk and the collective Prime Minister Award for the creators of “Academy of Mr. Kleks” (1984).
