Joanna Łapińska – Artistic Director of the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia
The Minister of Culture and National Heritage, professor Piotr Gliński, appointed Joanna Łapińska as the Artistic Director of the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.
Joanna Łapińska will be responsible for the organisation of the next three editions of the Festival. It is worth pointing out that she is the first woman in the Festival’s history appointed to this post.
Joanna Łapińska is a member of the European Film Academy, for over 20 years professionally active in the field of film, organising festivals and consulting film projects. Between 2002 and 2016, she was a Board Member of the New Horizons Association, the main organiser of the festival, performing the function of the artistic director of the festival. Since September 2016, Joanna Łapińska has been the Programme Director of Transatlantyk Festival, she worked also as an expert for the Polish Film Institute, the Masovia Warsaw Film Commission and the Łodź Film Commission. She has cooperated with numerous festivals sitting on the jury and also as workshops leader and panels participant.
Joanna Łapińska has worked with the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia since 2021. During the previous two editions, she held the position of the Gdynia Industry coordinator.
