“Digital revolution. Create your own recipe for legal culture” Competition
The 3. edition of the Competition aiming at promotion of the use of legal sources of culture as well as drawing attention to the condition of culture in the context of civilization changes and broad access to digital technologies has been launched. Among the winners of the prize are: a popular spot “Sorry filmowcy” (“Sorry filmmakers”) by Michał Baczuń and a witty animation “Ściągaj z legalnych źródeł” (”Download from legal sources”) by Michał Toczek, accompanying screening of the feature-length 3D film “The Lego Movie” in Polish cinemas.
The competition is open to natural and legal persons as well as teams of filmmakers. Films, no more than 1 minute long, should correspond with the message of the Legal Culture campaign: “Using legal sources, you support culture” and make the recipients aware of the fact that the manner in which they use culture has a significant impact on it. The deadline for submission of works along with the required documents expires on 29 August 2014. The results of the competition will be announced during the 39. GFF Young Cinema Competition Awards Ceremony on 19 September 2014 in the Musical Theatre.
By a verdict of the Young Cinema Competition Jury, the authors of the best spots shall receive the following prizes:
- first place: PLN 8,000
- second place: PLN 2,000 and participation in the Film Spring Open workshops
- third place: PLN 1,000 and participation in the Film Spring Open workshops
The organisers emphasise that copyrights on the spots submitted for the Competition cannot be limited in any way or violate third party copyrights and personal rights. Any materials used in a film (music, films, photographs, books, illustrations, games, etc.) must come from legal sources.
