Film Criticism Master Course!

The “Course for Reviews” competition is intended for young film aficionados who would like to professionally deal with film criticism. It is held from 3rd July to 7th August 2015. In order to take part in the competition, within the deadline you have to send a competition submission including two film reviews. The first one, up to 1500 characters long, should concern any Polish film the premiere of which took place in the years 2014-2015. The second review, of the length of between 3000 and 5000 characters, should include a comprehensive analysis of Maciej Bochniak’s film entitled “Disco Polo”. The competition submissions should be sent by way of electronic mail (address: kurszarecenzje@sfp.org.pl). “Course for Reviews” is the first stage of the competition whose winners will be entitled to participate in the Film Criticism Master Course during the 40th Gdynia Film Festival held from 14th to 19th September 2015.

This year, the Gdynia Film School joined the organizers of the competition and the Film Criticism Master Course, and it will be responsible for a brand new – television – part of the Course. The Course participants will attend two workshops this year – the literary one, held by Bożena Janicka, and the television one, held by the lecturers of the Gdynia Film School. The extended form of the Film Criticism Master Course is aimed at the provision of the widest possible preparation of the young cinema theoreticians for the profession of the film critic who nowadays not only writes reviews but also creates video materials – for television, portals and videoblogs.
