Psychology of Achievements for the world of film

It was created by four graduates of psychology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities : Aleksandra Pogorzelska, Aleksandra Zienowicz, Ewa Serwotka and Kamil Radomski. They currently work in various fields of achievements (in sports, in business). They got together thanks to post-graduate studies in Positive Sport Psychology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Sopot.

What the team of psychologists say about the project: “The basis of our work is the assumption that the functioning in film associates with the functioning in sport. We find the analogy in relation to team, working under pressure in the face of social exposure.”

The first pilot edition of the project took place in the Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre among the students of the 3rd year. The project received positive opinions of both students and lecturers.

Thanks to some introductory interviews with filmmakers (directors, actors, cinematographers, producers and screenwriters, costume designers), collected and compiled by the team of psychologists, valuable information was received about the needs indicating the necessity of a public task. In addition, on the basis of on interviews and surveys conducted among students, a timetable was prepared in the form of lectures and workshops on psychology of achievement, in order to increase their ability to cope with difficult situations, as well as to enhance their performance on stage.

During the 37th Gdynia Film Festival the effects of work and plans for further development of the project will be presented for t he first time. The meeting will take place in Gdynia on 9 May at 1:00 p.m. in screening room 4, Multikino Gdynia. In addition, there will be free workshops on psychological skills with the authors of the project on 10 May at 12:00 noon in screening room no. 4.
