The Call of Gdynia – Let us invite you to the Festival!

The City of Gdynia invites everyone to an unusual anniversary event – the 90th Anniversary of the City, celebrated at the same time in 90 cinemas, on 18th June 2016 at 5:00 p.m., under the slogan: “The Call of Gdynia – Let us invite you to the Festival!”.

The anniversary will be added splendour to by a screening of the famous pre-war film “The Call of the Sea” by Henryk Szaro – one of the most interesting films of the mute cinema, with contemporary music composed by Krzesimir Dębski. The screening will be held at the same time in 90 selected cinemas of the Studio and Local Cinemas Network, the Kino za Rogiem Network and the School Film Archive Studio. After the film, live streaming from Gdynia of the draw of special awards for the viewers and two invitations for two people to the September 41st Gdynia Film Festival will be held.

The invitation covers travel costs, accommodation, alimentation and accreditation for all the events of the 41st GFF. The competition’s winners will also be the main protagonists of the film report from their visit in the capital of the Polish cinema. An invitation for two people to the 41st Gdynia Film Festival will also go to the cinema which best promotes the June screening in the local media.
