47th Polish Film Festival Newsreel

 

The 47th Polish Film Festival Newsreel comprises five short documentaries filmed and post-produced throughout the week by students representing the most important Polish film schools: Gdynia Film School (artistic supervisor: Marcin Borchardt), Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia in Katowice (artistic supervisor: Andrzej Fidyk), Lodz Film School, Wajda School and Warsaw Film School (artistic supervisor: Filip Hillesland). Edited by students of Editing at Lodz Film School under the supervision of experienced professionals, Irena Siedlar and Miłosz Janiec, the project was initiated by Jerzy Rados, who has been documenting the PFF in Gdynia for sixteen years. The experiment aims to stimulate young filmmakers to keep looking for new documentary points of view on the festival microcosm full of renowned figures, rivalry and intriguing events.

Subsequent episodes of the 47th PFF Newsreel will premiere on Monday, 12th Sept., Tuesday, 13th Sept., Wednesday, 14th Sept, Thursday, 15th Sept, and Friday, 16th Sept., at the Musical Theatre and before selected screenings at Gdynia Film Centre
