Olga Kałagate

24-year-old student in the fifth year of Film Directing at the Radio and Television Faculty of the University of Silesia. Pursuing her studies, she creates short feature films and documentaries, mostly about children. Personally, she is also interested in animated films, and among other things she works together with Aleksandra Bożyna, a graduate from the Film School in Łódź. Together they created two widely appreciated animations entitled “Bulba” and “Bulba – hair”. Her documentary entitled “12 i 1/2” won the main prize at the “Drzwi” Film Festival in Gliwice (2011) and the audience award – Wild Bison at the ŻubrOFFka Alternative Film Festival in Białystok (2011)

Her films were presented among others in the Young Cinema Competition in Gdynia (“Children’s Games” 2011), at the Student Films Night during the Kraków Film Festival (“Children’s Games”, “12 i 1/2” 2011), in the Polish Short Fim Competition at the Era-New Horizons Festival (“12 i 1/2” 2011), at the Student Short Film Panorama of the Plus Camerimage Festival (“Wolf’s Clothing” 2012) and at Short Film Corner in Cannes (“Bulba” 2007).
