Cristian Nemescu

Born in 1979. He graduated from the Academy for Theater and Film in Bucharest in 2003. His graduation short film, “ Story From The Third Block Entrance”, received the Main Award at the NYU International Student Film Festival and the award for a European short film at the festival Premiers Plans in Angers, France and the Special Mention at Interfilm Festival in Berlin. The middle length film “ Marilena from P7 ” entered the 2006 Cannes competition in the section “Semaine de la Critique”. Later the same year he received the award for the best film at Mediolan Film Festival. Cristian Nemescu was killed in a car crash in August 2006. His unfinished debut feature film was edited by his closest associates on the basis of Nemescu’s notes.
