Jerzy Hoffman

Jerzy Hoffman is a feature and documentary film director. Deported to Siberia in 1940, he returned to Poland after the war. In 1950, he graduated from high school in Bydgoszcz and five years later debuted as a director with Edward Skórzewski. The two of them formed a directing duo in the following years. Together, they made twenty-seven doc- umentaries. From 1983 to 1987, he was the Vice-President of the Polish Filmmakers Association. From 1987 to 1989, he was a member of the Cinematography Committee. Artistic director of the Zodiak Film Studio (1980–1997). Since 1997, he has co-owned the Zodiak Jerzy Hoffman Production company. He is a member of the Polish Film Academy.
