Jerzy Zarzycki

Director and screenwriter. Born in 1911. Initially, he made films with a partner. His first solo feature, pre-war Queen of Madagascar’s Soldier, didn’t survive to our times. Zarzycki re-shot the story in colour in 1958. Director of The Untamed City (1950) and Lost Feelings (1957), one of the first Polish neorealist films. Died in 1971.
