Konstanty Meglicki
Director, actor and pedagogue. Born in 1890. Student of Kinostudia. Performed in films and Stanisława Wysocka’s touring theatre. Believed to be the one who persuaded the actress to give cinema a try. She played her first role in his directing debut, Ponad śnieg. In 1927, Meglicki opened his own film school, where studied renowned actors such as Mieczysław Cybulski. In less than two years, he managed to shoot three films: Ponad śnieg, Magdalena and Halka. With the advent of sound cinema, he withdrew from filmmaking. Husband of actress Zorika Szymańska. Died in 1955.
