Marek Piestrak

Director. Born in 1938 in Krakow. Graduated from the Faculty of Ocean Engineering and Ship Technology of the Gdansk University of Technology and Film and Television Direction Department of Lodz Film School. Recipient of the 2019 Lighthouse Keeper Award for ‘the director who uses the rules of genre to create films artistically important and admired by the audience’. Member of the Polish Film Academy.
