Marysia Nikitiuk
Marysia Nikitiuk is director, scriptwriter, writer, graduated from Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University at 2007 and Kyiv University of theater, movie and TV at 2012. Worked as a scriptwriter from 2012. Her numerous shorts as a writer have been in programs of such film festivals as Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand, Cairo IFF, TISFF, Golden Apricot etc… and awarded with numerous awards. From 2014 Marysia started to shoot her own films as a director, and made three shot films: IN TREES, MANDRAGORA and RABIES. They were presented on Odessa IFF and on Molodist FF (Ukraine). In the same time, she was developing her first feature film WHEN THE TREES FALL.
In 2016 Marysia passed the ScripTeast laboratory. Script WHEN THE TREES FALL was awarded with Kieslowski award for the “Best script from Eastern Europe” at ScripTeast Awards in Cannes 2016. At the same time, she published her first book of novels ABYSS, that was awarded with Oles Ulianenko international literature award in 2016. In Autumn 2016 she started shootings of WHEN THE TREES FALL. In 2018 WHEN THE TREES FALL were premiered at 68th International Berlin Film Festival in Panorama section. Now she is developing her second feature film SERAPHYMA.
