Bad Luck

Jan Piszczyk pleads with the prison director to let him stay within the safe walls of the institution by telling him the story of his life. Piszczyk has been forever struggling with two conflicting features: ambition and conformity. Each of his incarnations brought him bad luck: every serendipity and chance in life backfired. Whenever he was successful, he usually ended up being his own undoing but blamed others for his failings. Only in prison did he start to feel free from responsibility and stopped dreading his identity.
