Academy of Mr. Kleks

Academy of Mr. Kleks

dir.

Krzysztof Gradowski

1984, 2 h 38 min

Adam Niezgódka reaches the fairy Academy of Mr. Kleks. Having familiarised himself with the story of a young prince Matthew embodied in a bird, he embarks on a journey in search for the magic button of Dr. Paj-ChiWo that could reverse the spell. By the way, he sees through the dark deeds of the demonic barber Philip: a supplier of freckles for the Academy.

Probably the most popular Polish film for the youth. The iconic role of Piotr Frączewski and the hits that everyone raised in Poland in the eighties and nineties knows by heart, with Witajcie w naszej bajce, Kaczką dziwaczką and Dzik jest dziki at the forefront. After years, the two-part film by Krzysztof Gradowski also contributed to the rebirth of the musical film in the Polish cinema: the makers of The Lure refer to it as the inspiration.
