A DILEMMA: GOMBRO IN BERLIN

A docudrama about Gombrowicz’s stay in West Berlin. Invited by the Ford Foundation, the writer stayed there for a year since May 1963. “In a divided Berlin, he looks from the window of his apartment at the eastern part of the city. The Polish border is less than a hundred kilometers away. Gombrowicz, a Pole, stands before a choice: to go or not to go? Come back? A dilemma. The Argentinian chapter of his life is closed. The present is a quick fix, the future is unknown.”
